Guru Purnima is one of India’s most sacred festivals dedicated to expressing gratitude towards our teachers, mentors, parents, and everyone who has contributed to our journey. As I celebrate this auspicious occasion, I cannot help but reflect on my own path—from a young child stepping into a nursery classroom for the very first time to standing today before the Supreme Court of India as an Advocate-on-Record (AOR).

Every stage of my life has been shaped by someone who believed in me, guided me, corrected me, and inspired me to become a better person. This journey is not mine alone—it belongs to every Guru who walked beside me.

The Beginning – My Nursery Days

Like every child, my educational journey began with a small school bag, tiny books, colourful pencils, and countless dreams.

On my very first day of nursery, I was nervous and curious. Holding my mother’s hand, I entered a classroom where I knew no one. Little did I know that this classroom would become the foundation of everything I would achieve in life.

There, I learned my first alphabet, my first poem, my first prayer, and my first lesson in discipline. More importantly, I learned how to share, respect others, and believe in myself.

At that age, success meant receiving a star from my teacher or hearing words of appreciation. Those simple moments became the building blocks of my confidence.

Primary School – Building Character

As I progressed through primary school, education became more than books and examinations.

Every teacher introduced me to a new world of knowledge.

I learned mathematics, science, languages, history, and moral values. My teachers encouraged me to ask questions rather than simply memorise answers.

This was the stage where I understood that learning is not about marks; it is about becoming a better human being.

School competitions, annual functions, debates, sports, and cultural activities helped develop confidence and communication skills that would later become essential in the legal profession.

Secondary Education – Learning Discipline

Higher classes brought greater responsibilities.

The syllabus became difficult.

Examinations became tougher.

Competition increased.

There were moments of stress, self-doubt, and uncertainty.

But every challenge taught me an important lesson—that success belongs to those who remain consistent even when the journey becomes difficult.

My teachers constantly motivated me to remain focused and never give up.

College Life – Discovering My Purpose

College introduced me to a much broader perspective of life.

It was here that I began thinking seriously about my future and realised that I wanted a profession where I could make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.

Law attracted me because it is a profession based on justice, equality, and constitutional values.

The idea of standing for truth and protecting the rights of people inspired me deeply.

This decision changed my life forever.

Law School – Beginning the Journey Towards Justice

Entering law school opened an entirely new world.

I began studying the Constitution of India, criminal law, civil law, constitutional law, arbitration, contracts, corporate law, and many other legal subjects.

Initially, the legal language seemed difficult.

Reading lengthy judgments appeared overwhelming.

Understanding complex legal principles required patience.

But gradually, every case, every lecture, and every assignment strengthened my legal understanding.

I realised that becoming a lawyer is not simply about knowing laws—it is about understanding people, society, and justice.

Learning Beyond the Classroom

Law school taught me theory.

Real life taught me practice.

Internships under experienced advocates became my second classroom.

I observed court proceedings.

I learned drafting.

I understood client interaction.

I watched senior advocates present arguments before judges.

Every day became an opportunity to learn something new.

Slowly, I understood that the courtroom is the greatest teacher for every advocate.

The Early Days of Legal Practice

The first few years in legal practice were challenging.

Every junior advocate dreams of becoming successful, but success requires patience.

There were long working hours.

Late nights preparing case files.

Reading judgments until midnight.

Waiting for opportunities.

Learning courtroom etiquette.

Understanding procedures.

Every small task contributed to building professional confidence.

These experiences taught me that there are no shortcuts in the legal profession.

Preparing for the Advocate-on-Record Examination

One of the biggest milestones in my legal career was preparing for the Advocate-on-Record Examination.

It required months of disciplined preparation.

Procedural laws.

Supreme Court Rules.

Practice and procedure.

Drafting.

Professional ethics.

Every subject demanded complete dedication.

There were moments of pressure and self-doubt, but my mentors continuously motivated me to stay focused.

Passing the examination was not merely a professional achievement—it was the fulfilment of years of hard work.

Standing Before the Supreme Court of India

The day I stood before the Supreme Court of India as an Advocate-on-Record remains one of the proudest moments of my life.

From a child learning the alphabet in nursery to representing matters before the highest constitutional court of the country, the journey felt extraordinary.

Standing inside the Supreme Court is not just a professional achievement—it is a reminder of responsibility.

Every case represents someone’s hope.

Every petition carries someone’s trust.

Every argument demands honesty, preparation, and integrity.

The Supreme Court teaches every advocate humility because justice is always greater than any individual.

The Gurus Behind My Journey

When I look back today, I realise that I never walked alone.

My mother taught me love and values.

My father taught me discipline and responsibility.

My school teachers gave me knowledge.

My professors introduced me to law.

My senior advocates guided my profession.

My judges inspired me with their wisdom.

My clients trusted me.

Every one of them became my Guru.

My Message to Every Student

If you are studying in nursery today, never think your dreams are too big.

Every doctor, engineer, scientist, judge, and advocate once sat in a classroom just like yours.

Success is not achieved in one day.

It is built through thousands of ordinary days filled with learning, discipline, and perseverance.

Never stop asking questions.

Never stop learning.

Never stop respecting your teachers.

Because one day, you may find yourself standing exactly where you once dreamed of being.

My journey from Nursery to the Supreme Court of India is not merely a story of education—it is a story of gratitude, perseverance, discipline, and faith.

Every classroom prepared me for the next challenge.

Every teacher illuminated my path.

Every failure taught me resilience.

Every success reminded me to remain humble.

On this auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima, I bow before all my Gurus who transformed a curious child into an Advocate-on-Record before the Supreme Court of India.

I sincerely believe that learning never ends. Even today, every new case, every new judgment, and every day in court teaches me something valuable. I remain a student first and an advocate thereafter.
